- PSC established PSEFI SKILLS to capacitate Filipinos with skills needed by the industry so they can take advantage of the economic opportunities. The organization aims to address shortage of skills and mismatch between the curriculum of the academe versus the requirements of the industry. - Three months after its founding, the training for Heavy Equipment Operations started which produced the first batch of lady heavy equipment operators in Cebu. This became the Strong Work Group (SWG), PSEFI SKILLS' pioneering women empowerment program. - PSEFI SKILLS was certified by TESDA as a training and assessment center for all Heavy Equipment Operation (HEO) qualifications. With the assistance of TESDA, PSEFI developed a training curriculum patterned from the academe but tailored fit to meet the needs of the industry. - Among the earlier innovations of PSEFI SKILLS was the delivery of combo training to produce multi-skilled individuals. PSEFI SKILLS bonded related trades or qualifications into a single course. As a result, multi-skilled graduates are more employable while longer courses are broken down into shorter, more industry-relevant skills.
